the boat launch. This is a large parking lot. You can park anywhere on either side of the loop. The road dead ends at the boat launch.
What to Wear:
Expect to get a little wet as we paddle the river. Synthetic, non-cotton
clothing (no jeans) is best and bring a hat. A dry change of clothing
for afterwards is a good idea.
What to Bring:
Don’t forget your camera! You can take pictures from your kayak, but
store your camera in a waterproof case or ziplock bag. Backpacks,
purses, bags or snacks for the potluck should be left in your car.
Footwear:
Wear shoes that can get wet (no gym shoes or flip flops). Sandals or water shoes are recommended.
Yoga:
Arrive ready for an outdoor yoga class on the grass. We invite you to bring your own mat, let us know if you need us to supply a mat.
Kayaking:
Led by Paddle and Trail’s ACA certified instructor, Walter Loos, who
will introduce you to the basics of paddling a kayak. Basic strokes
are covered; forward, reverse, stopping, turning and how to get in
and out of your kayak comfortably and safely. If you are interested
in renting a tandem boat (fits 2 people) let us know when you register.
Together we’ll kayak the lagoon and explore the beautiful wildlife refuge for 1.5 hours. If you need to head back sooner for any reason, feel free to let one of your guides know. This is a casual and relaxing paddle, expect to sight wildlife from your boat and to take lots of pictures! We invite
you to stay after for a potluck picnic.

than 45 degrees) this event will be rescheduled to August or you may
